Oyen Regional Rail Company runs a CN-served rail yard with transload and storage capabilities in Oyen, Alberta, on CN's Oyen Subdivision near the junction of Highways 41 and 895. The yard has about 15,000 ft of internal track, roughly 20 acres of laydown, railcar storage and an onsite scale. There is one small warehouse on site; Oyen will build or expand covered storage when the business justifies it. Project and oversize cargo is the yard's specialty. Over a five-year wind-energy program Oyen handled turbine blades, tower sections and transformers, and it is turnkey-ready to do it again. It has also handled a 600-carload pipe project. Other traffic includes agricultural products, oversize and heavy components, and dry bulk. The site is a CN Certified Rail Ready Site. Oyen has partnered with the Town of Oyen and the municipality on an industrial park, with 400 acres of additional land available for development, tax and development incentives, and federal grant approvals in place for development rebates and landlord incentives.
