Madison Railroad has been operating 22 miles of railroad since 1978, from a CSX connection in North Vernon, Indiana to the industrial area of Madison, Indiana. Our operations are designed around the specific needs of our customers, and switching service is available anytime as needed.
Madison Railroad is strategically located between the three metropolitan areas of Louisville (Kentucky), Cincinnati (Ohio), and Indianapolis (Indiana). Madison and Jefferson County are accessible to 65% of the US marketplace within a one-day's drive.
The convenience of a 3,400-acre industrial park offers development opportunities and access to loading dock facilities, ramps, and self-serve transloading. The new 22-acre transload facility has ground level rail access, 2,300' of track space, and up to 60 car spaces for transloading served by multiple transload operators. Indoor warehousing and outdoor laydown areas are also available. We have railcar repair and storage services available upon request. HAZMAT ACCEPTED
