Northern Plains Rail Services completed the construction of our new railcar repair shop and transload center in August 2020. Our team of experts is ready to customize transportation solutions to meet your shipping and rail car repair needs. Transload Operation - Strategically located near Interstate 29 to enable customers to expand their market access in Northwestern Minnesota, Eastern North Dakota, and Southern Manitoba. Rail Car Repair - 6 bay, 29,000 square foot shop. We provide competitive service and currently repair various Freight Cars including, but not limited to, open and covered hopper cars, center beam cars, gondolas, coiled steel cars, box cars, and 3-pak intermodal cars. Rail Car Qualifications: AAR M1003 certification in in activity codes B25 (repairs of 85 hours) & B26 (rule 88 Office manual of interchange rules) Single car air brake testing in accordance with CFR Title 49 232.305 Welding certification AWS D15.1 Freight car repairs in compliance with AAR interchange rules, standards & government regulations.
