How important is data when making operational and commercial decisions for your company? (Answer by Xavier Zermeno)

Data is what feeds our Key Performance Indicators, which are our operational and decision drivers. We do not make any important decisions without a thorough analysis of good information we can rely on. It is very important that the data we use to make decisions is accurate and comes from reliable sources, namely our information systems that are fed by our team and often by EDI that comes from our customers and suppliers, as well as good external sources (professional market analysis and forecast, economic outlooks, etc.).

There are several occasions when our decisions are a combination of hard data and gut feeling, also. Our team's long and valuable professional experience provides an additional factor we consider when we make decisions, but we always at least have data as a backbone of our disciplined decision-making approach.
