ARKANSAS-MISSOURI RAILROAD is a proactive shortline that is committed to continually improving its wide range of services over the years to come. As well as expanding its passenger train services and working hard to continually improve the services offered, Arkansas-Missouri Railroad operates an extremely successful commercial freight and rail services operation. When the choice was made to purchase the 149 miles of track, which stretches from Monett, MO to Fort Smith, AR, from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1986, there was a common goal by the entire railroad to be the best shortline anyone had ever laid eyes on. This goal still holds true today. From a world-class engine shop that works hard to restore and maintain engines for both the freight and passenger sides of the operation, to the company's commitment to safety through Operation Life Saver, and the installation of cockpit voice recorders and on-board track camera systems, Arkansas-Missouri Railroad is here to stay.
