As we mourn the loss of lives when the Amtrak commuter train derailed in Tacoma, WA on December 19, 2017, we at Commtrex take a pledge to improve our industry with better management of data, communications and transparency.
Commtrex developed a research study in partnership with Rockwood Steel, a full-service railroad management consulting firm, to understand supply chain workload and efficiency levels when utilizing rail transportation. The study uncovered insight about beneficial technologies to shippers, time and resources used to manage procurement and operations, and prioritization in activity
Commtrex is helping the rail industry rapidly recover from the Hurricane Harvey destruction by providing a 24/7 marketplace where available rail related services like track repair, railcar maintenance, inspections, cleaning and safety, in addition to railcar storage is listed and accessible to commodity rail shippers who are re-routing and repairing their rail assets and operations.
Commtrex is encouraging all railcar storage facilities and railcar service providers to join the Exchange for free. Commtrex is donating 100% of all advertising proceeds through September 10, 2017 to the American Red Cross Gulf Coast.
The rail industry has experienced a dramatic skills gap in recent years, created by changing cultural demands, a smaller incoming workforce and under-qualified applicants. ConnectWork approaches the problem from the center of the issue. Learn more about their strategies.
