SBP -- National disaster nonprofit providing resources to shrink the time between disaster and recovery.
Housing Locators -- Free service helping people locate available and affordable
United Way of North Carolina -- Non-housing services and referrals to health and human services statewide.
South Carolina Department of Commerce -- Manages federal funds available to assist in recovery.
North Carolina Department of Public Safety -- Lost document replacement resources.
South Carolina Disaster Recovery -- Oversees grant programs that focus on rebuilding or repairing homes damaged by severe weather events.

the following is a list of resources for donating your time and/or resources:
The American Red Cross -- The Red Cross depends on financial donations to be able to provide disaster relief immediately. Blood donation is critically needed: More than 140 blood drives have been canceled through early next week due to Hurricane Florence, resulting in over 4,200 uncollected blood and platelet donations.
Charity Navigator -- Sending money is almost always the most efficient way to help in a disaster, but make sure the charity is one you can trust.
United Way -- Contributions enable the fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in each community and around the world.
Amazon's Alexa -- Amazon announced that you can now say “Alexa, make a donation to Hurricane Florence,” if you own one of its virtual assistants. The money will go to the Red Cross.
GoFundMe -- The social giving platform set up a page for Florence-related aid efforts.
The Cajun Navy -- The group has a PayPal account for monetary donations, which are needed to fill fuel containers and buy meals for boat teams and evacuees, among other costs. Its volunteers, who include boaters, EMTs and firefighters, have extensive training and have conducted rescues in previous storms, like Hurricane Harvey last year.
Atlanta Humane Society -- Transports animals when shelters are damaged, which also frees up space for lost or displaced animals that come in after the storm. (Shelters that reach capacity are sometimes forced to euthanize animals after natural disasters.) All donations are being matched on Facebook until September 30.
